Refurbishing and modifying a Lincoln 225 AC Welder
I’ve had the Lincoln Electric “tombstone” stick welder for years with plans to clean it up and give it a paint job. I decided to make some improvements while I am at it.
An important piece of the drive gear for the universal head is a spacer screwed to the front of it that ensures proper meshing with the driven gear inside the universal head. Continuing on with this project to get the K&T universal head mounted onto the horizontal mill. I need to machine an arbor for the drive gear and it only makes sense to do this on the horizontal mill to ensure concentricity.
