With the saddle off the K&T 2HL and cleaned up, I needed to make sure all the oil passages were clear and clean before I can run new felt. This turned out to be more of a challenge than I expected due to some stupid mistakes on my part! As I watch the video back during editing, I can see the plugs were moving in some cases when I center punched them. More evidence that I should have removed these a different way. Lesson learned for the next time – if there ever is a next time!

A friend of mine gave a set of JCR Offroad rock silders to another friend for his Jeep. Trouble is, the rock sliders are made for a 4 door and the recipient has a 2 door. I spent a little (lot) of time with a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder and a welder making these a bit shorter so they will fit the 2 door Jeep.

The last major component to come off the K&T is the saddle. The knee is too cumbersome to remove and I was advised against doing that. With this part off, I can get to cleaning and painting all these parts.

Stumbled upon an online auction. The listing for this was poorly written and the photographs didn’t show any details. But I knew at least something about it and if I put a low enough bid on it and won, even if it was a piece of junk, I was confident I could get my money back by parting it out.

With the table off of the K&T, I can pull out the feed distribution box. I ran into a little trouble, but with the help from a friend and some other revelations, I managed to get it out. Unfortunately, it wasn’t in as good a condition as I was expecting.
