Weld it up Wednesday! At least that’s what I’m going to call it. When I got by Rock Hard 4×4 Cage, I wanted to modify the overhead bar to be a little cleaner. I added weld along the seems where the plate met the tube and then ground it smooth. Since I left it uncovered, I think this is a better look for me. Hope I never have to test it!

Back before I got my welding certification, a friend of mine welded up the truss and brackets on the Rubicon axles I acquired. The Barnes truss was an easy fit up and has held up very well.

When I did the Rubicon axle swap, I painted the donor axles with rust bullet before a top coat of flat black. So far, even after a couple Ohio winters, they are still relatively rust free.
